Dr. Ana Maria Gonzalez-Angulo, MD, PhD, is an accomplished medical oncologist and clinical researcher with an extensive career spanning academic medicine, translational research, and patient care. She began her tenure at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in 2003, where she later became a professor in the Departments of Breast Medical Oncology and Systems Biology. During her time there, she led multidisciplinary research initiatives and mentored emerging physicians and scientists, contributing to advances in the understanding and treatment of complex breast cancers.
Currently, Dr. Gonzalez-Angulo serves as Medical Director of Research and Senior Medical Oncologist at Consultores de Oncologia and practices at Unidad de Cancerologia in Guadalajara, Mexico. Her clinical and research work focuses on HER2-positive and triple-negative breast cancer, minimal residual disease, and molecular diagnostics, with an emphasis on bridging laboratory discoveries and patient care.
A widely published investigator, Dr. Gonzalez-Angulo has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles that have helped shape modern approaches to cancer therapy, particularly in addressing treatment resistance and genomic profiling.
